About The Guides

My wife Lisa, my son Sam, and I love our home here on Kodiak Island. Kodiak has a history and culture that dates back thousands of years. Kodiak is known in Alaska as the Emerald Island.

Construction and commerical fishing brought me to Kodiak in 1980. Hunting and fishing is the lifestyle here; professional hunting is an opportunity for me to share what I know and love with people from all walks of life.

I did my guide apprenticeship on the Alaska Peninsula at Bear Lake Lodge, world famous for phenomenal brown bear hunting. We also hunted trophy moose and caribou. In 1995 I started my own business. I am blessed to have found a niche in the hunting world, and I have built my reputation on providing traditional Boone & Crockett fair chase sport hunting.

I am a member of Safari Club International and I exhibit my hunts every year at the hunter's convention in Reno, Nevada. My membership and participation in the Alaska Professional Hunter's Association enables me to be part of the most effective political apparatus in the state of Alaska for the conservation of wildlife. I would like to invite you to join me on a hunting adventure here in the great land. Come and enjoy the beauty and grandeur of the "Land of the Midnight Sun".

Greetings All,
My name is Daniel, and I’m proud to be part of Aleutian Islands Guide Service. I was born and raised in rural Michigan among its beautiful orchards and riveting lakeshores. I’ve always had a hunters spirit and found solace in wild places. A lust for the hunt was foreign to most of my relations, but from a young age I gravitated to it like a deep rooted instinct. Hunting quickly became a way of life, and led to some of my most profound life experiences.

The thrill of adventure is what first brought me to Alaska over six years ago. I, like many Alaskan immigrants before me, came to the “Great Land” with only the clothes on my back and a fire in my heart.

I soon fell into the romantic savagery of commercial fishing, where I sought to prove myself physically and mentally, pushing the limits of my endurance. Three years ago I became involved in the guide industry by what seems now to be destiny. I’ve been blessed to meet Tim and Lisa and have formed a lasting, meaningful friendship. I feel very privileged to have their guidance.

Hunting professionally in Alaska has provided me with a lifestyle that most only dream of, and I honestly say that I’ve never had a dull moment. My first concern on all of my hunts is for my hunters comfort and well being, and helping to make the hunt a truly positive once in a lifetime experience. It is my intention, and I will do everything in my power, to provide my hunter with a memorable and enriching hunting adventure.

May you be blessed with a fair wind and a following sea.
